Mr.
Benson, Thank you so much to you,
and all the members of the Marine
Corps League for the Safety sun
glasses. They are great, and exactly
what we all were looking for. The
Sand wind and dust goggles, and
glasses they issued us at the
beginning of our deployment are very
scratched up, and are unserviceable.
As you more than likely know the
military isn’t the quickest in
replacing some equipment. The
glasses have really helped us all
out, thank you so much for your
support.

Always have room for paperback books. I
will put them out so the
Marine/Sailors and Soldiers can take
them. Also I took that photo today
of all the Marines wearing the
sunglasses eating a bag of Kettle chips.
Once I down load it, I will send it to
you.

Sir/Ma’am,
I’m a 1LT serving with the 1/180th
(Oklahoma) currently attached to the 41st
BCT here in Afghanistan. I recently
received a pair of the ballistic glasses
you donated to the Oregon National
Guard, and I just wanted to write a
short note thanking you for your
support. We’ve been in country for a
bit over three months now. Things are
settling into a rhythm, and thus far the
mission has gone really well. Support
from back home, and from people like you
has been outstanding. My time here has
been an experience, and with support
from organizations like yours, it’s been
far from a negative one.
Thank you again,

Mrs. Turner,
I would like to thank you and the good
people of Oregon for stepping up above
and beyond for your fellow soldiers. It
pleases my heart to know that we indeed
have the support of some of the American
people. You are not only supporting us,
but you also support our mission when
you reach out and contribute to our
needs. A million thanks to you and all
those that donated these glasses to us.
God bless you always,

Subject: your sunglass donations
Hello!
I want to thank you for your generous
donation I received via your
organization, the Marine Corps League.
The sunglasses are what we need. My
original issued eye protection has
already been scratched to the point of
needing replacement.
We are US Navy stationed in Afghanistan,
assigned to the army and helping them in
their Embedded Training Team mission
known as Task Force
Phoenix.
Task Force Phoenix
trains the Afghan National Army.
We have come to call ourselves Dirt
Sailors since there is no water to be
found, and we are,of course, land-locked.And
we have received infantry-combat
training, so in a sense, we have become
the "diet" version of marines. Who-woulda-thunk?
Although I am not in the Oregon National
Guard, I am working hand-in-hand with
them.
Again, thank you for your support. Oorah!

Hello Mrs. Turner....
I would like to thank you for the
ballistic lense sunglasses you sent over
for us via the Marine Corps League...
They will be put to some good use that
is for sure... Hopefully we will never
have the need to find out if they really
won't break when schrapnel hits us... I
wouldn't want anyone to have to
find that out.. But just in case
something like that does happen we
surely want to be prepared and all of us
over here that have recieved these
glasses greatly appreciate all your
doing for us back home... Your in
our thoughts as we see we are in yours..

Hey there!
SSG Dutton from the 41st BCT,
currently in Kabul, Afghanistan. I just
received a pair of your shatterproof
eyewear.
Thank you so much! Eyewear is an
extremely perishable item in this
environment. They are much appreciated
and will be put to good use everyday.
